Umphrey’s McGee played the first show in Georgia since their scorching New Year’s Eve run at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, and the band was more than ready to be back raging in the Peach State. UM played a huge set, including classic songs like “Miss Tinkle’s Overture” and “Puppet String.” The set also contained the southern rock tune “Women Wine and Song,” which stood out as a fan favorite and had the entire crowd singing along. STS9 stormed the stage and took the energy to whole other level on this beautiful Saturday in Georgia. As night fell on Encore Park, lighting designer Saxton Waller filled up the venue and illuminated the audience with his stunning lighting rig. The energy was out of this world as STS9 started off on fire with “Kabuki” and “Monkey Music”. STS9 continued to rock the crowd, and were joined late in the set on-stage by UM members Jake, Stasik, and Bayliss for a classic cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.” The beautiful “Breathe In” was placed perfectly in the set, and a huge encore of “This, Us” and “Golden Gate” left the fans praising the “mind-expanding musical enjoyment” that was STS9/Umphreys 2013 Summer Tour!
